more pictures...

Another picture post. I still need to get used to the order in which blogger posts the pictures I upload. I wanted the belly pics first, then the nursery pictures, but I can't move them on Google Chrome. Oh well.

The nursery pictures show the nursery almost complete and then there is the one picture of the crib before it was put together.

As for the belly pictures the first one was taken today at 32 weeks and the full body shot was taken at 30-31 weeks.

Six weeks to go...

Well I'm 31 weeks today. Only six weeks before this little guy could come at any time. It amazes me how quickly this has gone by! I'm still feeling great, my only complaints being a little ankle swelling at the end of the day and my son trying to stretch out of the side of my body.

My uterus doesn't stretch that way sweet pea!

My shower was Sunday and it was great! Sarah and Cathy really went all out. I hope I'll be able to repay them when they have little ones.

We now have a TON of clothing and diapers. We also got our umbrella stroller and boppy pillow! I've still got a lot of the larger things to get: mattress, swing, travel system(carseat), changing pad, nursing supplies, etc. so I'm still not even close to being ready for him...but he definitely wont be naked!

I'm going to get to do a lot of shopping in the next few weeks. I can't wait to finish getting his room ready. I'm in full nesting mode.

Most of our family has gone home. I'm sad to see them go. I really miss being around them. I can't wait to move back. That'll be a few years at least though.

24 years...

So I am officially 24 years old now. I think next year will be the hardest. 25. Then I'll be in the upper halves of my 20's and before I know it they'll be gone. I know I should be living in the moment but I'm already anticipating how quickly life roles by.

12 years ago my little brother was two months from being born...12 years later and my own son is two months from being born. Oh my god...he'll be 12 before I know it. Why does it go so quick? Well, I shall try not to dwell upon that and focus on the moment.

We went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and then met up w/ my parents who are staying at a Hyatt up here. On our way home, the last hour of my birthday was not so hot. We got side swiped by some crazy guy on a two lane street who drove into oncoming traffic (we weren't even the ones going slow, there were people in front of us) and then he took off! A cop saw this and tried to follow him but his car stalled and then he just gave up. Sometimes I wish the Chicago PD had quotas to fill...but at least we're all okay. Thank God for that.

In better news, my shower is Sunday and I can't wait! We did finally get the crib and it's all set up but that's really all we have besides some clothes and bedding. I also got two Fuzzi Bunz diapers off of Amazon. I really want to try Cloth Diapering. Not just to be green but also to save $. Diapers are so pricey!

Well, I need to go get ready. Since my parents are in town we're going down to the Museum of Science and Industry. It should be fun...it's probably the best museum in Chicago. So much cool stuff to do.

Below are some updated belly pictures, the first one was taken at 29 weeks and the last two at 27 weeks. I am 30 weeks today and have my next appointment tomorrow.

And it starts...

So today was my last day of work for the summer! Whooo! I do have to go in for four hours on the 18th and 29th to work on "summer projects" but that wont be bad at all. Next time I go into work for "real" I'll have a little squirmy baby with me!

My cousin has come in this evening...poor thing is stuck sitting at the airport waiting on Caleb who is stuck in some of the worst traffic he's seen. Apparently everyone and their dog decided today was the day to get off work at 3pm. We'll see how long it takes for them to get back to the apartment. Should be interesting. Talk about a great introduction to Chicago.

Not sure what we're going to do while she's here. Tonight we're planning on going to Giordano's Pizza for dinner. LOVE that place and it is definitely a Chicago staple. Maybe we'll hit some of the other pizza places while she's here, but I honestly think the best is Giordano's. It's a hot topic here in Chi-town everyone has an opinion.

We're definitely going to do some of the fun touristy stuff...we just need to plan it out.

Short

I'm on my second to last day of work before summer! I'm so thankful to have a schedule that allows me time off each year. I do have to go into work twice in June (once on the 18th and once on the 29th) but I'll only be there for 4hrs so I can work on some summer projects. 

I really need to update my belly picture. I've let it lapse a week. I was pretty consistent with taking it every two weeks, but now it's been three. I guess that's what moving does to you. 

Anyway, this was just a quick update. I'm trying to get back into the groove of updating regularly. Hope everyone has a great weekend...mine is the start of a lot of family visits. My cousin comes in tomorrow evening and right after she leaves next week my parents come in and then Caleb's entire family is coming that Saturday. 

I have my Baby Shower on the 21st (thanks to Sarah and Cathy!!) so everyone is coming in for that! I can't wait!

It's been a while...

Well, I was really good at updating at first and now here I am falling back into my old patterns. Life has been pretty hectic, but add that on with no internet and you've really got a recipe for falling off the update wagon.

We are all moved in to our new place, well sort of. We have the old apartment until the end of June so there are still some boxes over there. Caleb has a lot of his "man-room" stuff still there but we're slowly working on it. All of the really important stuff is at the new place and we're officially living there. I do want to get my vacuum over but we still need to clean the old place, so I don't know exactly when that will happen. Our landlord keeps showing the old place, I seriously wonder if anyone will rent it looking the way it does. We tried vacuuming a little bit, but the bathroom is a mess and there are boxes here and there.

I wish you could all come see our new apartment. I need to take some pictures and put them on here, but it still wouldn't do it justice. I swear it's the best deal in Chicago...we really lucked out. It is large enough that all three of our cats can disappear for hours at a time. LOVE IT! It is so wonderful and already, a week into it, I can't believe we lived in that dinky little place for two years. Plus, thanks to my awesome in-laws, we have a dishwasher! **do a little dance** I am so thankful for that. I can live without a washer/dryer in our place (as long as it's in the building) but I definitely need that dishwasher. I HATE hand washing dishes and I HATE seeing dishes pile up.

Well, hopefully it wont be a month before I update again. We're supposed to be getting the internet today (I'm at school right now) and then work is out for summer on Friday. We've got a lot of family coming into town so we'll be out and about doing all the fun "tourist" things that you never do when you live here but I should be online more.

Oh and baby update... 11 more weeks! wow...just...wow...
